Teen arrested for 30 “swatting” attacks against schools, security reporter

The problem with the digital world, especially for older business people is that the young people have a better knowledge of what the world can do for business as well as personally.

The problem that we face is that these digital know-it-alls do not have the understanding of what can happen when you get caught doing something illegal.   For most of us, the repercussions are one of the reasons why we take the digital world with a little bit trepidation.

For those that do not know what a “swatting” is – it is using the police to arrest someone for something that they have been framed for.   Brian Krebs, is one of the people that I personally would not target, seeing he has more knowledge about cyber crime tactics than the cyber criminals themselves.

Roger Smith, is an educator. Teaching students at ADFA (UNSW) and showing them how vulnerable they are to cybercrime.

He is also CEO at R & I ICT Consulting Services Pty Ltd, an Amazon #1 author on Cybercrime and founder of the SME Security Framework. He is a Consultant who specialises in inexpensive and highly effective security strategies for small and medium businesses and not for profit organisations.

He has developed and authored the SME Security Framework and the Security Policy Training Course which are considered to be the definitive guides to helping SME's protect their organisation using the principles of Technology, Management, Adaptability and Compliance.
